Steve Goldby joins Conformia's Board of Directors
Recognized scientific business leader and experienced private / public company board member

Redwood City, Calif. ­ April 29, 2004 Conformia Software Inc., the leader in Product Conformance Management (PCM) software solutions for regulated process industries today announced that Mr. Steven Goldby has joined its board of directors. Mr. Goldby has previous Conformia experience as a member of Conformia's Life Sciences Industry Advisory Board.

Currently, Mr. Goldby is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Symyx Technologies, the leading company applying combinatorial methods to materials science. Prior to Symyx, he served for more than ten years as Chief Executive Officer of MDL Information Systems, Inc., the enterprise software company that pioneered scientific information management.

Before joining MDL, Mr. Goldby held various management positions, including Senior Vice President, at ALZA Corporation, from 1968 to 1973, and was president of Dynapol, a specialty chemical company, from 1973 to 1981. Mr. Goldby holds a bachelor's degree in chemistry from the University of North Carolina and a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center. He is also a Director of PeopleSoft, Inc. and several private companies.
