Conformia Names Vinay R. Ambekar VP Engineering
Track Record of successful enterprise products development and deployments catapults Conformia to leadership in Enterprise Conformance Management (ECM)

Redwood City, California, USA - June 9, 2003 Conformia Software, Inc. ("Conformia"), an enterprise software company developing Enterprise Conformance Management (ECM) solutions, today announced Vinay R. Ambekar has joined the company as Vice President of Engineering. A highly skilled senior executive with 20 years of experience in developing and delivering large-scale enterprise-wide web-based products, Ambekar will lead Conformia's distributed development team.

"Vinay has developed whole product families addressing millions of components, for multiple industry verticals, with thousand user deployments, and multi-faceted enterprise wide integrations. His track record of building global teams and processes to develop and deploy products is a significant addition to the Conformia team," said Chairman and CEO Joseph A. Prang.

"Based on my background in enterprise software, I believe ECM for the process industries is an area primed for a new killer application. It is an area that has not really been addressed by any of the enterprise software companies," said Ambekar, "Conformia as a company, has the critical knowledge and experience, in both software and regulated process industries. Also, Joe and I have worked very successfully together in the past and I believe Conformia has all the right ingredients to be the next big player."

Ambekar joins Conformia after nearly a decade in high-level management positions at i2 Technologies. He was Vice President from 2001, developing i2's Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) suite of products while managing a 450-member technical team in the U.S. and India. In that position, he successfully guided the product team that became the least expensive development team and one of the highest selling product lines. Between 2000 and 2001, he was Vice President Product Development - Core Technology, where he managed a 200-member team that developed the technology foundation layer on which a majority of the modules of SRM were built.

Prior to i2, Ambekar served in management positions with Aspect Development from 1993-2000 when it was acquired by i2. As Director of Applications Product Development, he held responsibility at various times for product development, integrations, customer support, technical writing, etc. During his tenure the customer base grew rapidly, while customer satisfaction increased, development costs dramatically decreased, and the solution footprint grew substantially. Ambekar led development through multiple generations of products, always maintaining customer's data as architectures changed. Aspect utilized a distributed development team model, and Ambekar is widely credited with starting the India Development Center for Aspect which grew from 0 to more than 1000 employees over 6 years.

Conformia has also now established a distributed development team model. "With 15 years of experience in leading multi-site development teams, I can envision this model working effectively and efficiently for both Conformia and its customers. We will deliver cost efficient solutions with 24/7 support," said Ambekar

"Vinay has been able to take our initial product vision and extend it to multiple vertical markets, and he is brilliant to work with" said Kam Desai, Co-Founder and Director of Product Management. "My philosophy in developing industry vertical solutions is to build them from a common technology platform. I am truly excited at the potential exists at Conformia with ECM. One of the main reasons I joined was because the Conformia team had managed to accomplish so much in such a short time."
