CONFORMIA LAUNCHES BENCHMARKING SURVEY
REDWOOD CITY, CA -- June 29, 2005
Conformia Software Inc., the leader in Product Conformance Management (PCM) enterprise solutions for the Life Sciences industry announced the launch of its benchmarking survey targeting the Pharmaceutical and Biotech Process Development arena today. The survey, "Best Practices in Managing Information Across the Development Lifecycle" will be conducted in partnership with Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Magazine and Professor Ken Morris of Purdue University. The survey is one of the first to focus on measuring just how well Life Science companies are managing the wealth of data and information generated during what the FDA has come to call the "Critical Path of Development", those series of activities from compound selection to transfer to commercial manufacturing.
"Companies exhibiting a strong degree of alignment between business processes and their information management capabilities will be better positioned to meet the increasing business challenges required to remain competitive, said Michael Eckstut, Conformia's Vice President of Life Science Operations. "Unfortunately, within the Process Development arena, there has not been enough leadership or direction to point Senior Executives in the right direction and to give them the proper tools to get there. This results of this study will not only help companies better understand how their level of performance compares against those of Industry Leaders but also, will provide them with an opportunity to understand what actions they should consider to achieve best practice results and realize tangible improvements in Process Development."
Whether increasing the number of compounds introduced to the market, improving quality standards, or implementing efficient manufacturing processes, the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors have been forced to look at more effective solutions to drive top-line revenue coupled with bottom-line results. This survey will attempt to uncover how those operational efficiencies can be unlocked via more effective data capture, storage, and visibility across the enterprise.
"We couldn't be happier at the opportunity to team up with both Conformia and Ken Morris to help make this study a success" said Agnes Shanley, Editor in Chief of Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. Through this partnership, we are confident that we will be able to provide the Life Sciences community results it will be able to translate into improved efficiencies".
Data collection will take place from mid-June to mid-August. If you are interested in participating, please visit www.pharmamanufacturing.com or www.conformia.com for more information.
