Former Top ATF Official Joins Conformia
Richard Gahagan to Strengthen WinePRO Product Development Team

Redwood City, CA, USA - July 23, 2003 Conformia Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise software solutions to regulated, process-oriented industries, today announced that Richard Gahagan, former Chief Inspector for the Trade & Tax Bureau, formerly the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), has joined the company's Beverage Alcohol Industry Team. Gahagan has been a formal advisor to Conformia since January 2002.

The Conformia Beverage Alcohol Solutions Team spent over 22 months working onsite with wineries-ranging from small (10,000 case producing wineries) to large (10,000,000 case producing wineries) - to drive product requirements for WinePRO. WinePRO is based on over 30 person years of extensive research and development into winemaking, production, and regulatory best practices.

Gahagan spent 30 years with the ATF. He began his career as an Inspector in 1971 where his duties included the qualification of distilled spirits plants, wineries, breweries, wholesalers, and importers. Gahagan also conducted audits of these businesses to evaluate whether the correct amount of Federal excise tax was paid; the products were made in accordance with Federal and State production standards; and that the products were labeled in compliance with Federal regulations.

"Richard's wealth of experience as a specialist on compliance and production issues with wineries, breweries, and distilleries is an enormous plus for Conformia," said Neil Kataria, Co-Founder and Director of Alcohol Industry Solutions.

In 1982, Gahagan was promoted to ATF's Wine Technical Advisor and assigned to the Domestic and International Trade Division of the Office of Alcohol and Tobacco, in Washington, DC. From its creation in 1982 until his retirement in 2002, he is the only person to hold this position. As ATF's Wine Technical Advisor, his responsibilities included advising the wine industry, state and foreign governments, and other Federal agencies on U.S. wine regulations and production. This involved working with many domestic and international wine related issues, including the evaluation of new wine-treating materials and processing technology.

"Richard is an invaluable asset to the Conformia Beverage Alcohol Solutions Team," said Joe Prang CEO of Conformia. "Richard has participated in the product development of WinePRO since the beginning and is very dedicated to the success of WinePRO and Conformia."

WinePRO covers the complete wine production process with solution modules for Work Order Planning & Management, Cellar Management, Blend Management, Tank Management, Barrel Management, Lab Management, Compliance Reporting, Traceability, Costing, and Alerts/Notifications. It also covers the full brand lifecycle from trial blending, through production, and product history management.

"I feel this is a very exciting opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a long awaited much needed production and compliance software solution for the beverage alcohol industry as a whole," said Mr. Gahagan. "The team at Conformia is extremely talented and dedicated to delivering the very best and most user-friendly solutions to the industry. WinePRO is going to revolutionize how wineries manage their production and compliance information.

Gahagan has served as a director on numerous boards, including the Viticulture and Enology Research Center (VERC) at California State University, Fresno; the Technical Projects Committee (TPC) of the American Society for Enology and Viticulture (ASEV); and the Grape Germplasm Advisory Committee of the United States Department of Agriculture.
